Charlotte C. Billingsley ’20 Scholarship
Established by her family, friends, and classmates, this endowed scholarship fund honors the life and legacy of Charlotte C. Billingsley, Berkshire Class of 2020.
Charlotte was a beloved role model at Berkshire, earning the respect and admiration of classmates and teammates as a selfless leader and a warm friend to all. Distinguished in academics, Charlotte was elected to the Cum Laude Society and subsequently chosen as recipient of the Peter Lance Anderson Award, decided by the membership of the Cum Laude Society and given to the student who best exemplifies the qualities of personal excellence, integrity, and academic scholarship.
Charlotte also led in athletics at Berkshire. Serving as co-captain of Berkshire’s Crew team, she went on to win a gold medal for Bowdoin at the New England Rowing Championships. Berkshire honored Charlotte’s extraordinary leadership in rowing by establishing the Charlotte Billingsley ’20 Award for Career Achievement, presenting the inaugural award to her younger sister, Campbell ’24.
Addressing the community as Berkshire’s 2024 Commencement speaker, Campbell shared a life lesson that her older sister helped instill in her, encouraging classmates to “Take each precious step on this earth with assertiveness and joy.” It is in this spirit of leadership, achievement, and kindness that the Charlotte C. Billingsley ’20 Endowed Scholarship provides tuition assistance for a student every year in perpetuity.
