Berkshire School's 2016-2017 Annual Report of Giving
In 2016-2017 more than 2,500 members of our community came forward in support of Berkshire. The below highlights recognize the contributions from our students, alumni, parents, trustees, faculty and staff, and friends that make the Berkshire experience possible for every one of our students.
2016-2017 Milestones
Last year we set new records in giving and participation thanks to the generosity and dedication of our community. Highlights include:
Gifts to Berkshire
- $12.5 million raised in endowment, capital, and annual gifts
- More than $3 million raised for the Annual Fund the second year in a row
- 1,690 gifts made on One Day for Berkshire
- Three students' tuitions covered by gifts to Berkshire's new Annual Scholarship Program
ESSENTIAL ENDOWED FUNDS FOR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS
- Establishment of three new scholarships including the Follert Family Scholarship, the Kenneth Friedman/Class of '75 Scholarship, and the Peter L. Kennard Scholarship
- Establishment of the Arthur C. Chase Endowed Chair in English
Increased Engagement
- 100% participation among the senior class in support of the Annual Fund
- 36% increase in regional events attendance
New Spaces dedicated on Campus
- Soffer Athletic Center
- Kinne Court, Duryee Court, and five of the ten squash courts within the Soffer Athletic Center
- Kennard Visual Arts Center
