Day Camp

Campers should spend summer in an environment where activities challenge their curious minds and passions ignite while exploring nature, making lifelong friends, learning new skills with plenty of fresh air and tons of smiles guided by counselors who boost confidence.

We make learning fun! Campers develop at their own pace within the safety of our nurturing community.

LOWER CAMP (PRE-K-K)

Ages: Children ages 3-5 entering PreK or Kindergarten in September 2018 (must be potty-trained and 3 by June 25, 2018)

Hours: 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

overview

For many campers this is their first camp experience. Lower Camp gives our youngest campers a chance to have fun, meet new friends and work together within small groups. Our structured daily schedule is customized to their age group, meeting their developmental needs. Exciting activities are carefully designed to foster your camper’s curiosity. Each group is led by our caring, all-adult staff who are trained to gently encourage each camper to fulfill their full potential. Our low camper-to-staff ratio allows each staff member to be fully engaged in your camper’s experience.

MIDDLE CAMP (GRADES 1 - 2)

Ages: Children entering Grades 1 and 2 in September 2018

Hours: 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Overview

Middle Camp provides rising first and second graders more activities with opportunities for choice, allowing them to embrace their interests. Our schedule provides a nice balance of structure and freedom, allowing our staff to help guide and support campers individually while creating opportunities to grow as a community. Whether creating a masterpiece, scoring a goal, discovering new talents or making new friends, our staff will encourage your camper to meet each challenge with enthusiasm and effort.

UPPER CAMP (GRADES 3-4)

Ages: Children entering Grades 3 and 4 in September 2018

Hours: 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Overview

Upper Campers need an environment where they can chart out their course for the day and week, highlighting the activities in which they want to focus. Rising third and fourth graders will choose afternoon "electives", giving them plenty of opportunity to spend more time in programs that ignite their passions.

EXTENDED DAY RATES

EXTENDED DAY RATES

Our Extended Day Program is offered to all campers at an additional fee. You can use it by the day or enroll for the week. We offer both morning and afternoon time for your camper. Each session incorporates fun activities like art, games, sports and playground time.

8:00-8:30 a.m.: $10/day $50/week

4:15-5:00 p.m.: $10/day $50/week

FOOD ALLERGIES

If your camper has a food allergy, whether mild or severe/life-threatening, we will make every effort to ensure your camper's safety. Our staff will work directly with you and our Flik Chef to accommodate your camper's allergy by carefully customizing lunches and snacks to meet your camper's needs. Our camp staff receives extensive food allergy training and closely supervises all meals with their campers. Please note on your registration form as well as the health history record of your camper's food allergy.

Lunch & Snack

A mid-morning snack and full-service lunch program are provided by Flik Dining and is included in your camper's tuition. Campers enjoy daily nutritious lunch options while eating with their camp friends in our dining hall, Benson Commons. A lunch menu will be available prior to the start of camp.

REGISTRATION INFO

2018 camper registration begins on March 28, 2018. Registrations are accepted on a first come, first served basis. Once a session has filled, a wait list will be formed for the specific age group.

HOW TO ENROLL

PAYING IN FULL

- If paying in full at the time of registration, please use our online registration. You will need a credit card available to complete your registration.

- Once we receive your registration, your credit card will be charged for the full amount due of and your camper(s) will be enrolled into the requested weeks and program (based on availability).

- An enrollment confirmation will be sent to you via e-mail.

- All required camper forms will be made available to you prior to camp and must be returned by June 8.


DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT PLAN

- If you would like to make a $300 Deposit and set up a payment plan for the balance, please fill out the Day Camp Registration Form and email it to summer@berkshireschool.org.

- Drop off your deposit (make checks payable to: Berkshire School) to the Summer Programs Office (Kellogg Alumni Center, Room 101) or mail to:

- Once we receive your registration, your camper(s) will be enrolled into the requested weeks and program (based on availability).

DISCOUNTS

Discounts will be applied by the Camp Office to qualifying camper accounts based on enrollment into requested programs and weeks.

8-WEEK DISCOUNT

Campers who enroll for all eight weeks of camp are entitled to a 5% discount off the total cost of their selected programs (Extended Day fees are not included).

SIBLING DISCOUNT

Families enrolling more than one child and attending six or more weeks of camp are entitled to a 5% sibling discount off the second, third, and so on.

REGISTRATION POLICIES

All registrations are processed on a first come, first served basis.

Full payment is required at the time of registration. Deposits and payment plan inquiries can be made through the Camp Office at 413-229-1207.

We make every effort to accommodate changes in camper enrollment. Please contact the Camp Office at 413-229-1207 to inquire about your needs. All changes in enrollment are dependent upon availability.

Prior to June 1, all monies paid are refundable or transferable. After June 1, all camp fees are non-refundable.

HEALTH INFORMATION

All campers enrolling in Day Camp are required to have completed a Berkshire Day Camp Health History Record which includes documentation of a physical examination within 12 months prior to attending camp. All Health History Records must be on file with camp prior to the start of your camper’s first day.

Please notify the Camp Office and Camp Director of any special concerns about your child(ren).
