Alpine Skiing - Varsity Girls
Berkshire provides our students with a unique opportunity to maximize their ski race regimen while focused on a demanding academic curriculum. Our girls' varsity team competes in the Class A Division of the New England Private School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) and within the Brigham Ski League, named in 2012 for longtime Berkshire School coach Bob Brigham. The team trains five days a week at Butternut Ski Area, located in nearby Great Barrington.
In addition, the majority of our ski team members also compete in the United States Ski Association (USSA) and in FIS (International Ski Federation). Berkshire School is an official and fully licensed USSA & FIS Club Program. Our licensed USSA staff coaches provide a dedicated daily training progression, including the support at all USSA and Scholastic competitions, assistance in equipment selection and tuning, video analysis, off season conditioning including summer and fall ski camps, and college guidance for those seeking to compete following their Berkshire experience.
The program has enjoyed strong success in recent years, including winning the New England Class A championship in 2015. The team has won the Brigham Ski League title for six consecutive years dating back to 2011.
