Event Type: Regular

Date: January 22, 2014

Score:Berkshire 33 - Suffield 20

Event Recap:

Berkshire 33 Suffield 20

After dropping three straight games the Bears were looking to bounce back as they headed off to play Suffield Academy.  Berkshire started off the game a bit slow and Suffield was able to jump out to a 6-0 early lead before the Bears found their stride.  Led by a great defensive effort by Silvanna Gomez, Didi Fade, and Genesis Paulino the Bears were able to shut down the Suffield offense and go on a 12-0 run with Brooks Hamilton and Taylor Rathbun scoring a majority of the points.  Suffield did find their grove again before the half, but the Bears still led 18-14.  The second half saw a lot of back and forth action until the Bears went on a big run and won the game 33-20. Noemi Ogaz had a strong defensive second half coming off the bench and showed a great deal of hustle.  Offensively, it was truly a team effort as Brooks Hamilton (12 points), Taylor Rathbun (11 points), Didi Fade (6 points), Genesis Paulino (2 points), and Moet Matsuoka (2 points) all scored for the Bears.  With the win Berkshire moves to 3-5 on the season.
