Squash - Boys Junior Varsity vs. Kent School

Event Type: Regular

Date: February 23, 2013

Score:3 - 4

Event Recap:

The Bears closed out a good winter season, hosting an exciting tri-match on Saturday at Berkshire.  Kent and Eaglebrook both braved the day's dodgy weather to join us for a great afternoon of squash which featured a dramatic 3-4 loss to visiting Kent and an 0-7 rematch against Eaglebrook.  While the results weren't what we'd hoped for, the games did showcase each player's best squash of the season and a gritty resolve to fight for each and every point.

The wins against Kent came from Mike Schiffer (#5), Noah Arin (#6), and Will Aldam (#7).  Third former Henry Thomas played exceptionally well, dropping his match at #3 with a heartbreaking loss in the fifth and deciding game with players and fans from both sides packing the back glass behind Court 2.  The Bears left it all on the court against Kent, but competed gamely in the late afternoon finale against Eaglebrook.

Captains Daniel Kim and Mike Schiffer provided great leadership for the team throughout the season, and with a roster of all underformers, the prospects looking ahead to next winter's campaign are bright indeed for each returning player.  A special thanks to all our regular parent supporters who provided strong cheer, post-game sustenance, and steady support throughout the long winter season!

Good luck to everyone as you transition to the spring sports and afternoon season!
