Berkshire provides our students with a unique opportunity to maximize their ski race regimen while focused on a demanding academic curriculum. Our Boys Varsity Team competes in the Class A Division of the New England Private School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) and within the Brigham Ski League, named in 2012 for longtime Berkshire coach Bob Brigham. The Boys train five days a week at the Butternut Ski Area located a short fourteen minute drive from campus.
In addition, the majority of our ski team members also compete in the United States Ski Association (USSA) and in FIS (International Ski Federation). Berkshire School is an official and fully licensed USSA & FIS Club Program.
Our licensed USSA staff coaches provide a dedicated daily training progression, including the support at all USSA and Scholastic competitions, assistance in equipment selection and tuning, video analysis, off season conditioning including summer and fall ski camps, and college guidance for those seeking to compete following their Berkshire experience.
The program has enjoyed strong success in recent years. Boys Varsity has remained undefeated in the past four years of BSL Competitions. From the USSA and FIS arenas, we’ve placed student-athletes into:
USSA Tristate U16 and U21/U18 Teams (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014)
USSA Eastern U16 Championships (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014)
