Squash - Boys Varsity vs. The Hotchkiss School

Event Type: Regular

Date: January 13, 2014

Score:Berkshire 0 - Hotchkiss 7

Event Recap:
Monday saw the Bears head to Hotchkiss to face a talented and deep team.  While everyone put forth a great effort on the court and extended rallies, the top four found it difficult to find the necessary precision to keep their opponent off-balance.  #5 Peter Hoover '14 earned a game off of his opponent and played well but ultimately lost 1-3.  #6 Noah Wilson '15 struggled to get out of his head in the first two games but came out strong in the third and just narrowly lost 10-12.  He had game point but seemed amazed he was in charge of the match and couldn't find a way to maintain his strategy.  #8 Dongchan Ryu '17 won his first game 11-9 but couldn't get his shots into the channels for the remaining three.  He lost 1-3.  #9 Tanner Boyle '17 continues to improve and did well to take the first game 11-7.  Unfortunately, he too couldn't quite hang on and lost the next three 9-11, 8-11, 7-11. It was a tough day for the Bears but everyone kept their head up.  We face Taft, another challenging opponent this Wednesday but are also looking forward to welcoming Jack Harrison '15 back into our ranks.
