Basketball - Boys Varsity vs. Canterbury School

Event Type: Regular

Date: January 29, 2014

Event Recap:

The Bear’s headed south today for a game against the Canterbury Saints prior to the long winter weekend.    Easy description of the game, “never got off of the bus”, would sum it up.  The Saints just came marching in and the Bears, while scoring 80 points, gave up 100.  Yes you read it right, 100, 50 each half.   Not what one would call a defensive gem as the boys seemed to have left a few hours early for the long weekend.    The hope for the group is the rest of the weekend will help revitalize and energize the team as February will be one busy month with nine games on the schedule in 18 days.  Maybe the groundhog will help?

Once again Troy Pierre-Louis lead the team contributing  33 points; Lavante Wiggins had his best game of the season with 21 points and multiple rebounds; Chris Cooke had 9; Cyrus Rothwell-Ferraris 6; TJ Stewart chipped in 6; Will Fortenbaugh 3; and Jay Ma’s 2 finished the scoring.   It is now time for some rest to get ready for the last few weeks of a long season.
