Coming off a great game against Westminster, Berkshire looked to continue their strong play and push for a second W against Taft. While not their best game defensively, the Bears did find their scoring touch and came away with a 4-3 victory.
In the first two minutes of the game, Berkshire experienced some highs and lows. Taft struck first at 14:09 as they pressured hard, forced Berkshire to cough up the puck and buried it. Just a minute later, Lauren Henman '14 tied the game up. Ronnie Lortie '14 and Molly O'Neill '17 had the assists on the goal. While the Bears would have a few more chances, both teams entered the locker room tied at one.
The second period started out much the same way as the first, with two goals being scored early, but this time Berkshire had both goals. Kenzie Lancaster '15 scored both goals in a minute. The second goal was a power play goal and was assisted by Olivia Good '15. The Bears would head to the locker room with a two goal lead and feeling better about their overall play.
Taft would win the third and final period of the game, but Berkshire was able to hang on for the W. Henman scored her second of the game on a beautiful shot to the top right corner at 9:58in the period. Maddie Beitler '17 set Lauren up with a great heads up break out pass. Jamie Ernst '15 made the save of the game with a couple of seconds remaining when Taft had scored two and found themselves with a quick one time shot as the seconds died out.
