Hockey - Boys Varsity vs. The Gunnery

Event Type: Regular

Date: December 11, 2013

Score:Berkshire 6 - Gunnery 3

Event Recap:

The Bears hosted Gunnery on Wednesday for their home opener at the JACK. Fans in attendance were treated to a fast paced game in which both teams competed hard and represented their schools well. Berkshire got on the board early when senior forward Nick O'Connor gathered a pass from his linemate, Barclay Gammill, and ripped a low shot into the back of the Gunnery net. It was a back and forth contest for much of the rest of the first period and through the second period. Jeff Thompson had a nice goal in the third period to extend the Berkshire lead to 4-2 and Mike O'Brien got  his first goal in a Berkshire uniform to make it 5-2. Gunnery would get a powerplay tally to cut the lead to 5-3, but the Bears added a late empty netter to seal the win.

It was a nice all around team effort. The Bears are back on the road this Saturday to face Northfield Mt. Hermon.
