Hockey - Boys Varsity vs. The Williston Northampton School

Event Type: Regular

Date: January 12, 2013

Score:5 - 0

Event Recap:

The Berkshire Bears faced off against the Williston-Northampton Wildcats on Saturday as part of the NEPSHC West Showcase. The day featured four prep games on Saturday afternoon and was technically a home game for Williston despite the game being played on Berkshire's home ice. These teams had played just a week before and on this day the combined offensive output may have been lessened, but the result was the same. Berkshire took control of the game early on by putting up three unanswered goals in the first period. The two teams played a scoreless second and Berkshire sealed the victory in the third period by adding two more goals. Goaltender George Blinick '14 stood tall in net, earning the shutout. Other notable performances included Adam Tracey '14 with two goals, Tipper Higgins '14 with a goal and an assist, Craig Puffer '14 with a goal and an assist, and Jake Sontag '14 with two assists. Defenseman Quin Pompi '13 also netted his second goal of the year on the PP.

The Bears are back in action Monday when they travel to Hotchkiss.
