On yet another breezy spring afternoon, the Bears crossed the border to take on Hotchkiss. Offenses dominated as both sides racked up strong performances at the plate. Berkshire, after building a seemingly insurmountable lead against the hosts, had to rely on the good old sleight of hand to stop the bleeding and safeguard the victory.
Max Way started on the hill for Berkshire, going three solid innings with seven strike outs against just three hits. Jack Gustavson followed with three workmanlike frames of his own, and Max Miller and Trevor Berry finished things up in time to pick a bunch of Mizza's pizzas for the ride home.
Table-setters Max Miller and Gustavson reached based seven times between them and scored six runs. Chris Cooke, Henry Thomas and Max Way all managed multiple hits and multiple RBIs. Cooke also helped to secure the game with the old hidden ball in the home half of the seventh.
