Lacrosse - Girls Varsity vs. Suffield Academy

Event Type: Regular

Date: April 20, 2013

Score:9 - 7

Event Recap:
In an exciting contest that was close to the last minute, the Bears earned their third win of the season.  Both teams played well in their offensive and defensive ends but the game was decided in the midfield where Berkshire owned the draw and ground ball advantage.  Molly Crabtree '15 and Amelia Patsalos-Fox '14 were especially dominant in between the restraining lines, each earning four caused turnovers and three ground balls, and Sandra Stephan '15 had five clutch draw controls.  Ultimately, these fifty-fifty battles are often the differentiating factor in a close game and Berkshire recognized the importance of strong performance in the midfield.

Defensively, Eloise Morrow '14 and Julia Slyer '14 did a great job breaking the ball out and Britt Brown '13 had 12 crucial saves.  Contributing on the offensive end were Crabtree (1 goal, 3 assists), Murphy Newman '13 (3 goals), Allie McErlean '14 (2 goals, 1 assist), Stephan (2 goals), and Sydney Beldock '13 (1 goal, 1 assist).
