Lacrosse - Boys Varsity vs. Deerfield Academy

Event Type: Regular

Date: April 3, 2013

Score:6 - 7

Event Recap:

Berkshire was feeling good after winning their season opener versus Northfield Mount Hermon and played the first of two very difficult games as it welcomed Deerfield to campus.  The Bears knew that they would have to bring their A game to come away with a win against the defending league champs.  Berkshire showed that they were not intimidated by Deerfield as Sam Woodcock, Robbie Fiamengo and Michael Allen all scored goals to give the Bears a 4-1 lead.  Deerfield then went a 4-0 run that eventually stopped by Sam Woodcock’s third goal of the game, knotting the game at 5 going into the half.  The defenses for both teams shut things down in the third quarter until Deerfield broke through with a goal with 4:13 left in the quarter, but Noah Arin struck right back and put one by the Deerfield keeper on a pass from Robbie Fiamengo.  The two teams would stay at 6-6 until Deerfield broke through and scored the eventual game winner with four minutes to go.  Berkshire had some nice looks at the end to tie up the game but could not get them to fall.  Tyler Behring had another solid game in the net but the Bears just fell short.  Berkshire will take on Salisbury Friday afternoon.
