Crew - Boys Varsity vs. Rumsey Hall
JV Only

Event Type: Regular

Date: May 7, 2014

Event Recap:
The Berkshire boys' crew lower boats headed to our home course at Camp Sloane for their annual match-up with Rumsey Hall School on Wednesday.  As the only boats racing that day, the 4th through the 7th boat were challenged to step up and carry themselves as if they were the top boats in the program, and they did not disappoint.  In the 6/7th boat race versus Rumsey B &C, the 6th boat took a commanding lead and built it through the entire race, winning by nearly 20 seconds over Rumsey's B.  Due to injury and APs, a pair of rowers from the first race quickly hopped into the 5th boat and paddled up to the start.  Rumsey's A boat, as always, was powerful and quick off the line, but over the course of 1500 meters, Berkshire's 5th and 4th boat pulled away, having quite the race between themselves.  Berkshire's 5th boat edged Berkshire's 4th boat by just over 4 seconds.
The Bears have a big home race this weekend against Dexter School on the last weekend before preliminary seedings for New Englands are released.
