Tennis - Boys Varsity vs. The Loomis Chaffee School

Event Type: Regular

Date: April 20, 2013

Score:4 - 3

Event Recap:

The Bears were on the road again, this time at Loomis Chaffee. Coach Bjurlin, who had never enjoyed a victory against the Pelicans, was eager to play this match. The Bears dropped the doubles point quickly. Neither the #1 team of Clougher and Dunham nor the #3 team of Webb and Kreke could solve the afternoon's puzzles. However, the Bears matched up splendidly with the Pelicans in the singles portion. #2 Sam Clougher, #3 Noah Wilson and #5 Jack Benham made quick work of their opponents. Sam Clougher and Jack Benham played as well as Coach Bjurlin has ever seen, both recording a 6-0 set in their respective matches. With the match score tied at 3-3, PJ Webb put the Bears on his shoulders. In the third and decisive set, and with all other matches completed, PJ saved his best for last and defeated his opponent 6-1.
