Softball - Girls Varsity vs. Millbrook School

Event Type: Regular

Date: April 23, 2014

Event Recap:
The Bears picked up another win on the road on an unusually cold and windy spring day at Millbrook. Despite a few mental errors on defense, they continued to roll with the bats, scoring four runs in each of the first three innings. Krissy Govertsen ’15 had a good day on the mound as well as at the plate including a triple to start off the third inning. Francesca Ghi ’14 was also strong offensively, getting hits in all of her at bats. Jamie Ernst ‘15 and Kylie Wilkes ’16 did the same, going 4-4 with two doubles and 3-3 with four RBI respectively. Ernst also made a beautiful sliding catch in center field to prevent a Millbrook comeback in the bottom of the fifth. Mary Ward ’15 came in to relieve Govertsen on the mound and finished the game with a 1-2-3 inning, ending in a strikeout of the Mustangs’ best hitter.
