Softball - Girls Varsity vs. The Gunnery

Event Type: Regular

Date: May 15, 2013

Score:9 - 5

Event Recap:

Francesca Ghi ’14 went 4-4 on the day with two doubles and three RBI’s to lead the Bears to a 9-5 win in their final regular season game at home on Wednesday.  After two cancelled games due to the weather, Berkshire had not played a game in a week and a half, and it showed in the top of the first inning.  Gunnery plated four to give them a quick big lead going into the bottom of the first.  But, as they always seem to do, Berkshire was able to regroup and come back with some strong offense right away, advancing to an 8-4 lead after three.  Both teams scored again in the fifth for a final score of 9-5 Berkshire.

To add to Ghi’s four hits, Kylie Wilkes ’16 went 2-3 in her debut start and Ivey Mueller ’16 went 3-4 with a double.  Caitlin Kiene ‘13 led the team defensively with eleven strikeouts and only two walks.
