Berkshire traveled to Taft for their first game of the 2014 season and walked away with a convincing 10-3 win.
Will Aldam '14 started on the mound and allowed only two runs in 5 2/3 innings to earn the win. Berkshire jumped out to a one run lead in the top of the second when Jonathan Chudacoff '14 drove in Cyrus Rothwell-Ferraris '14 with a single to center. Nate Summers '14 added to the lead in the following inning with his first homerun of his Berkshire career. The Bears then took advantage of some walks in the fourth inning to pull ahead 9-1.
Bryan Gerstenfeld finished 3 for 4 on the day and Isiah Nunez added to the scoring with a homerun of his own. Freshman Jack Scarfoni '17 got his the first hit of his Berkshire career, which was an RBI single to right and Max Way '16 also made his debut on the mound to close out the game. It was a solid start to the season and now the Bears head to Cheshire Academy on Saturday for their first league matchup of the year.
