Baseball - Boys Varsity vs. The Gunnery

Event Type: Regular

Date: April 23, 2014

Event Recap:
The Bears bounced back after a couple losses to defeat the Highlanders on the road 4-0. Will Aldam '14 pitched a complete game to earn his third win of the season. He pounded the strike zone today and only allowed one hit over seven innings. A great performance by the senior right hander that gave us a good opportunity to win the game. Berkshire's offense put pressure on Gunnery in the first inning, loading the bases with two outs. Jon Chudacoff '14 came through for the Bears with a single that scored three. Nate Summers '14 also scored in the third when Cyrus Rothwell-Ferraris stroked a line drive double. Berkshire had some other chances but the Gunnery righty made some quality pitches to keep the scoring to four. It was an overall well-pitched baseball game on both sides and another quick seven innings. Some defensive highlights include Alden Boldt's outfield assist at the plate in the fourth to end the inning and to keep the shut out and Isiah Nunez's '14 play at third to knock down the ball and get the out in the fifth. The Bears are finally at home again tomorrow against Hotchkiss in a non league matchup. Please come out and support!
