The Bears bounced back this weekend in a tight battle with Millbrook. Berkshire led for much of the game until the sixth, when Millbrook’s bats came alive and put up three to tie the game 5-5. However, the Bears responded in kind with a rally of their own in the bottom half, extending their lead and earning their eighth win in the 11-5 victory.
Jackson Aldam ’14 started for the Bears and went three strong innings, letting up no runs on one strikeout and one walk. Senior Christian Acosta ’13 was the first reliever out of the pen, recording one strikeout in his inning of work. Johnny Grogan ‘14, Brian Rodriguez ’16, and Nate Summers ‘14 combined for three innings to end the game; Summers struck out two to close the door in the seventh.
Berkshire’s hitters were prolific, posting their eleven runs on twelve hits, and nearly every batter recorded an RBI on the day. The Summers Brothers—Captain Ryan ’13 and Nate ’14—led the way, each with an RBI on three hits. Alden Boldt ’14 and Jesse Hahn ’13 added two hits a piece, Boldt with a pair of singles and Hahn with a huge triple early in the game. Hahn’s two RBI were matched by Kyle Kobis ’13, who had a single and a double on the day. The Bears will look to bring another team effort against Williston on Monday.
