Field Hockey - Girls Varsity vs. The Loomis Chaffee School

Event Type: Regular

Date: October 26, 2013

Score:Berkshire 1 - Loomis 2

Event Recap:
Berkshire record: 6-6-1

The Bears faced a talented team in Loomis this afternoon. Unfortunately we were missing our captain, Ronnie Lortie '14 which threw off our offensive play.  We began the game a bit on our heels
and allowed far too many fouls against us.  Loomis scored just 8:40 into the game off a beautiful pass across that caught our D out of position.  Loomis followed up with 4:27 remaining in the half by
slamming home a rebound amidst a great deal of chaos in front of the net.  Berkshire re-centered at the half and worked on communication, passing as well as disciplined defense.  About halfway through the
second half, Berkshire began to gain momentum and find some offensive opportunities.  As the midfield moved the ball downfield, Olivia Good '15 worked to beat a defender at the top of the circle.  She passed toan open Sophie Perekslis who found the open '14 net.   Although we had chances, we couldn't seem to get shots on net.  Great job today by Maddie Beitler '17 and Eliza Griffin '16 who both got the call up from JV. A solid game at midfield by Olivia Good'15 and nice work by Emily Czajkowski '15 who turned away 7 shots.  We have a much needed day off on Monday. We face Westminster away under the lights next Saturday in a Play for the Cure game.
