The JV Field Hockey team traveled to Taft Wednesday for another game on the road. The Bears shook off their bus ride hibernation with a focused warm up and hit the field ready for a win. And win they did, in stellar style 3-1.
Echoing her goals last week, Hannah Honan '15 started off the Berkshire offensive attack less than 10 minutes into play receiving a pass at the post from Hattie Waldron '13. Berkshire moved the ball well throughout the half, taking Taft by surprise with excellent speed through the midfield. Honan struck again with thirteen minutes to play in the half after winning the ball at the 25-yard line and carrying it past two more defenders before putting a shot past the Taft goaltender.
In the second half, Berkshire was caught off guard and allowed a goal just one minute into play, but was not deterred. They fought hard to regain control of the field and widened the score only four minutes later as Renee Dreher '15 scored her second of the season with an assist from Arwen Neski '15. With nineteen minutes to play, the Bears fended of four penalty corners as goalie Addie Bullock '14 stopped eight shots in fifty minutes of play.
The Bears hit the road again this weekend, playing at Suffield on Saturday.
