Soccer - Girls Junior Varsity vs. Westminster School

Event Type: Regular

Date: November 2, 2013

Score:Berkshire 0 - Westminster 6

Event Recap:

Berkshire traveled to play against the Westminster Martlets. The Martlets came out strong with their fine-tuned play of speed, passing and shooting and scored within the 1st minute of the match. Unfortunately, it didn’t get any easier for the Bears after that. Westminster never let up and Berkshire was engaged in a constant struggle to gain possession and move the ball up and out the defensive end of the field. The Martlets capitalized 2 more times in the opening stanza and Berkshire found themselves exiting the 1st half time down 3-0.

Berkshire came out hard in the 2nd half, but could never get the momentum to shift. Westminster kept their foot on the gas and, before it was over, popped another 3 goals into the back of the Bear’s net. Berkshire never let up and created some scoring opportunities of their own, but it just wasn’t our day. The Bears succumbed to the Martlets - with the final score of 6-0.

Senior goalie Lauren Henman ’14 played exceptionally well. Henman saw a barrage of well executed shots and fought off twenty or more attempts on goal.

Berkshire will play home on Wednesday against Kent at 2:30 and on Saturday, against Millbrook at home at 2:30.
