Soccer - Boys Thirds vs. The Williston Northampton School

Event Type: Regular

Date: November 2, 2013

Score:Berkshire 0 - Williston 3

Event Recap:

I am very pleased with the incredible work that the team did today on the Stewart pitch. Berkshire faced a much older and experienced team that was very aggressive in their style of play. The Williston players surpassed our players in size by a significant margin, but the sharp contrast did not deter the Bears from putting a great game on display. The match was even after the first 15 minutes of the first half, despite the tough physical nature of the contest. Berkshire held off many attacks and brought danger to the Williston side many times. Unfortunately, we scored the first goal on our own net at the very moment when we were playing well. This emboldened the opponents and made the game even more challenging for the Bears when it came to defend man to man all over the field. Berkshire held its own throughout most of the second half and only made a few mistakes that were not wasted by Williston. All of our players showed great fortitude of character and they should be very proud of their performance.
