Soccer - Boys Thirds vs. Mount Everett HS

Event Type: Regular

Date: October 31, 2012

Score:5 - 1

Event Recap:

On a dark and stormy Halloween afternoon the Bears had a return engagement with the Mt.  Everett jv  Eagles. The Mt. Everett squad was reduced to eleven players due to injuries, so they faced an uphill battle with the battalion of Bears. The Bears started the scoring in the middle of the first half when left wing Pat Frey headed in a beautiful cross form Bryce Schuler. Mt. Everett continued to play with enormous energy and persistence.  The half ended with the Bears holding a slim lead. In the second half, though, the lack of depth began to affect the Eagles and the Bears’ fresh legs began to take complete control of the game.  Charlie Quaintance scored on a long volley. His goal was followed by goals from Dillon Cunningham, Connor Shalleck and Chris Bower.  Mt Everett did not give up, however, and put in a goal when about two-thirds of the second half had passed.  Sam Rusoff played well on defense as did the usual stalwarts Quinton Pollart, Connor Shalleck, Charlie Quaintance and Matt Licata. Chris Kreke played another great game at mid-field where he partnered with Jack Gustavson, Barclay Gammill and Gray Riatti. In addition to Frey and Schuler, Rye  Marra and Pedro Escobar played well up front.
