Cross Country - Girls Varsity vs. Kent School

Event Type: Regular

Date: October 5, 2013

Event Recap:

The Bears traveled to Kent School for a day of competition that they thought would leave them wet and chilly.  The afternoon turned out to be very different, as temperatures reached 80 degrees, humidity soared to 94%, and the gnats were out in full force.  Nevertheless, the day was gorgeous with the fall leaves nearing their peak colors on a course that could not be more beautiful.

Sarah Kinney ’15 took control of the race from the first 50 meters all the way to the finish line.  Running strong up and down a challenging course that followed single track trails through mountain forest and fields in the valley below, over roots and rocks, and up a hill known as “the gut buster” Sarah was a running machine.  Olivia Silverman ’15 was the next Berkshire girl to cross the finish line for her first competition for the season.  She ran a solid race and looked strong the entire way.  The whole team cheered Aly Hall ’14 in as she finished her first cross country race ever.  Great job ladies!
