The leaves were in full color for Berkshire’s 2014 Fall Parent’s Weekend, and so were the Bears as they ran their best times of the season. Berkshire hosted Suffield and Taft in a very exciting match up. Derrick Burt ’16 was the first Bear to cross the finish line. He was in 4th place overall running sub six minute miles for the first time this season. James Donovan ’15 was the next Bear to cross the line running a minute faster than his previous Berkshire course time. Five more Berkshire boys (Peter Giordano ’15, Jack Sacarafoni ’17, Daniel Kim ’15, Nick Asaro ’14, and Team Captain Nate MacKenzi ’14) were directly behind James, finishing with some of their fastest times of the season.
There were several other outstanding performances. Running his first race of the season was Dan Aldam ’17. In addition Manuel Pavon Rodas ‘16 ran his first 5k of the season with an amazing time of 22:11. Likewise, Rad Savage ’15 and Bao Nguyen ’14 ran much faster times than last week’s race at Kent School. There were a few boys who ran almost three or four minutes faster than their previous Berkshire course record including Sam Gatsos ’17, Logan Bigall ’17, and Tyler Morse ’17who ran a 6:47 pace! Similarly, Rafael Arredondo ’17, Matt Cortes ’17, Victor Leung ’17, Evan Liddy ’16, and Ryan Zang ’17 ran their fastest times by a minute while Ray Li ’16 and Chris Bower ’15 ran two minutes faster than their previous course records.
