Captains: Tanner Tomasi '14
During the 1960s and 1970s, Coach Jackman Stewart made Berkshire one of the premier soccer programs in New England. As a fitting tribute to his remarkable career at Berkshire, the New England Prep School Soccer Association has named the New England Class A Championship Trophy, the Stewart Cup, in his honor. The proud winning tradition and passion for the game of soccer that Jackman Stewart cultivated in his players has remained a trademark of Berkshire Soccer over the years and continues today.
All of the coaches in the program remain committed to the development of each player and the success of each of the three teams in the boys’ program. With daily training sessions, a competitive match schedule, and an overall commitment to excellence, Berkshire has been able to remain a leader in the New England Prep School Soccer Association.
In preparation for each season, Berkshire takes a preseason trip, during which the players not only get a full soccer experience but also a valuable cultural experience. In recent years the team has taken trips to England, Germany, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Zambia and to various location throughout the USA.

Zeiko Lewis '13 Earns National Honors -- Soccer America's All-Freshman Team
In just his first year at Boston College, Zeiko Lewis '13 has made his mark. Lewis recorded 11 assists and 3 goals for a team high 17 points. He led the ACC Conference in assists (3 more than his nearest competitor) and he was 3rd overall in assists for NCAA Division I. Not surprisingly, people took notice. In November, he was awarded the ACC Freshman of the Year while also earning a All-ACC Team (2nd Team) and All-ACC Freshman Team (First Team). The native of Bermuda just gained national recognition when it was announced that he made Soccer America's All-Freshman Team (1st Team). This honor places him in an elite category, as 1 of just 11 freshman in the USA picked for this award. This sort of achievement is not new to Lewis who was a four-year star at Berkshire, earning NSCAA All-American and Choice Hotels HS All-American honors last year after shattering Berkshire's all-time scoring and points record while also guiding Berkshire to its first ever New England Class A Championship in soccer.

Tomasi '14 - Selected for 2013 HS All-American Game
Tanner Tomasi '14 will play in the Choice Hotels High School All-American Game on Saturday, December 13th in Downington, Pennsylvania. Just one of 42 high school seniors in the USA and one of 3 players from New England to be selected, Tomasi is the second Berkshire Bear to be selected for this honor. Last year, Zeiko Lewis '13 received the same honor and showed well in the game, scoring once for the East.
Tomasi, a three-year starter for Berkshire and captain of the 2013 squad, led Berkshire to its second straight New England Class A Championship and earned the team MVP Award and selected to be on the NEPSSA All-Star Team and WNEPSSA All-Star Team. A true student-athlete, Tomasi's performance off the field has been equally impressive. This year he serves as a Prefect in Eipper Dormitory, runs the Helping Hands community service organization that he founded at Berkshire in 2012, and is a regular Academic Performance Award winner.
Anyone in the Philadelphia area who would like to see Tanner play live can do so; the game will be played at the United Sports Complex (1426 Marshallton Thorndale Road, Downington, PA 19335) and start time for the game is 5:00 PM.
Good luck, Tanner!
