Came to Berkshire: 2014
What type of students do you encounter at Berkshire? We have such a diverse, in all the meanings of this word, group of students at Berkshire. Some common threads that I notice are happy, welcoming students, who are hungry to learn and work. I see steady and ever changing purpose in our student body.
What is your favorite tradition at Berkshire? Mountain Day, and specifically the announcement of this day, is my favorite tradition at Berkshire. I love the anticipation, the youthful excitement from all in the community when it is proclaimed, and then the joy of almost all Berkshire community members enjoying the outdoors at one time. Slowing down the clock a bit on this day really allows folks to reflect on how lucky we are to live where we do.
How does it make you feel to be a role model for the students here? I think this is an area where the Berkshire community really gets it right! I feel supported by my colleagues to continue to grow and be the best role model that I can be for our students. It feels great to dive into passions that I have and to have students and faculty reciprocate that energy. I get excited about working hard and having fun, because I know others are looking to do that same in so many different areas of school life.
