Twiggs Myers: Share your Stories

On Friday, May 11 at 11:30 AM, the school will dedicate the lobby of Berkshire Hall to Twiggs Myers, honoring his nearly 60-year commitment to the institution.  Iconic teacher and coach from 1953 - 1995, Mr. Myers now serves as the school's archivist and on the Board of Trustees.  We invite you to share your stories about Twiggs here.

A very important ball of string

Timing track meets while Twiggs was a judge is one of the highlights my time here at Berkshire. Then, we always used a big ball of string to mark the finish of a race. Twiggs always said, “As long as that string exists, Berkshire School, as we know it, will continue to exist. If that string is gone, Berkshire School as we know it, will be gone forever.” We no longer use that string. However, we are assured that the Athletic Office still has that ball of string so that Berkshire School should be in good shape until the next millennium. Whatever you do, don’t throw out that string!
