Prize Night and Graduation 2013
We look forward to celebrating your son or daughter's upcoming Commencement with you. Here are some details that may be helpful to you in your planning.
Prize Night: Thursday, May 23
You are invited to a special dinner in honor of the graduates. The dinner will take place from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. in Benson Commons. This dinner precedes the Prize Night awards, an event that begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Jackman L. Stewart Athletic Center.
After Prize Night concludes, you are invited to kick up your heels at a wonderful dessert dance under the tent. This celebratory evening is open to everyone in the Berkshire community and is always a lot of fun. The New York Players are sure to draw everyone to the dance floor!
Commencement: Friday, May 24
Commencement exercises begin at 11:00 a.m. Seniors and faculty will process from Berkshire Hall and follow the road by the Math and Science Center along Buck Valley - an excellent photo opportunity. The ceremony usually takes about an hour and a half. Graduates and their guests are invited to a lovely luncheon under the tent after Commencement concludes. After lunch, graduates pack up their belongings and depart campus by 3 p.m.
A photography company, Highpoint Pictures, has been contracted to take photos of seniors at graduation. They will take a picture of each graduate receiving his or her diploma, as well as each prize winner. In addition, they are available after the ceremony for photos of the graduate with families and friends. Parents should expect to receive an email around July 1st with links to a photo gallery where images can be ordered. For more information about graduation photos from Highpoint Pictures, click here. There will be a designated photography area for family photographers and videographers as well.
For friends and family unable to join the graduates here on campus, the commencement ceremony will also be streamed live on the school's website. A link will be posted in the Parents section of the website, and an email link will be sent to all sixth form families.
Berkshire School is working hard to make all of our events as environmentally sustainable as possible. If held outdoors, it can get warm on the football field where the graduation ceremony takes place. You are encouraged to bring water in a refillable container to help keep cool.
