Drone Challenge: Build, Fly, and Race!

SUNDAY, JULY 7 - FRIDAY, JULY 12

Ages: Rising 6th-9th graders
Cost: $1,575

What does it take to be an aeronautical explorer? In this course, students will learn how to rise off the Earth and fly through the sky while gaining an understanding of the principles of lift, thrust, and control. In this fast-paced flight program, they will learn how to build, fly and race quadcopters. A drone project will provide them with firsthand experience in building and flying their own aerodynamic objects. Before they take to the skies, they will have hands-on engineering experience learning about the drone’s assembly, best practices on replacing parts, and the how to care for the drone in flight and storage. Focus is on teaching students how to pilot drones, FAA regulations, and culminate in a variety of races and flying challenges.

Robotics: Engineering with LEGO® Mindstorms®

SUNDAY, JULY 14 - FRIDAY, JULY 19

Ages: Rising 6th-9th graders
Cost: $1,575

Explore the exciting world of Robotics! Working in small teams, students learn how to design and build a robot using LEGO® Mindstorms®. Program your robot to perform project-oriented tasks and challenges. For novices, start with the basics of construction and programming. For the more experienced, develop sophisticated programming and engineering skills. No prior experience with LEGO® Mindstorms® necessary. All skill levels welcome.

Coding Through Game Design

SUNDAY, JULY 21 - FRIDAY, JULY 26

Ages: Rising 6th-9th graders
Cost: $1,575

Learn the foundations of programming in this course that focuses on developing games and mods. Students will receive training in Python programming on the Raspberry Pi microcomputer. They'll utilize programming skills to build classic games and create new gameplay features and Mods in Minecraft. This course is recommended for students who have an interest in engineering and programming and who are proficient in the use of PCs.
