Squash - Girls Varsity

Girls squash has a strong tradition at Berkshire School. A demanding interscholastic schedule features perennial rivals like Suffield, Westminster, Millbrook, Hotchkiss, and Canterbury. The Bears also participate in High School Nationals, with our season culminating at the NEISA championships. Berkshire won the class C championship in 2016. Moving up to Class B the next year, the Bears placed 6th (out of 16) while hosting the tournament on our 10-court facility in 2017. The team equaled their best finish in 2018, coming in 5th in Class B.

A.J. Kohlhepp, who has been coaching boys and girls varsity teams since 2001, works hard to develop a sense of community within Berkshire squash and a personal connection to every team member. He also collaborates with former world No. 1 squash player Nick Matthew, Berkshire's squash ambassador, to develop training plans and to ensure tournament preparation. Berkshire coaches support student-athletes throughout the college application process, and graduates have gone on to successful squash careers at Bowdoin, Colby, Connecticut College, Hamilton, Hobart & William Smith, Northeastern, and St. Lawrence in the past decade.
