Crew - Girls Varsity

Berkshire's girls varsity crew team trains and races in the spring season, and finds its home on Long Pond, in nearby Lakeville, Conn. The season features 1500 meter sprint races against schools such as Taft, Choate, Gunnery, and Pomfret, and culminates with the prestigious NEIRA Championships in Worcester on the last weekend in May. In addition to spring racing, we enter a boat in the Head of the Charles regatta in Boston each fall.
The team is open to all students who are looking for a challenge, interested in trying something new and willing to push themselves athletically. Although some girls arrive with rowing experience, the majority of rowers arrive at Berkshire with no previous experience in the sport, simply a desire to try. Within their first season, new rowers are often challenging for seats in the top two (varsity) boats.
Berkshire crew trains at the Norman White Boathouse at Camp Sloane in Lakeville, Conn. In addition, we use the facilities at the Jackman L. Stewart Athletic Center on campus, which houses our 10 Concept 2 ergometers, a full weight room, and additional athletic amenities.
