Cross Country - Girls Varsity

Cross Country has been one of the most successful athletic programs at Berkshire since its inception at the School in 1966, winning New England championships in 1977, 1978, and for four consecutive years from 1995-1998. The team takes advantage of Berkshire’s beautiful setting with a course that has striking views of the campus. The course is challenging but idyllic in that it truly incorporates a variety of different terrains. Additionally, favorite running loops on country roads in the surrounding rolling hills of southwestern Massachusetts provide even more territory than Berkshire’s own 400 acres.

Berkshire runners compete in the annual Canterbury Invitational, a number of Division I and II dual, tri, and quad meets, and the New England Prep School Championship, which Berkshire has proudly hosted a number of times. Though we have established a tradition of excellence, runners of every talent level are encouraged to come out for cross country at Berkshire. Developing teammates who appreciate one another and the sport of running is the ultimate goal every season.
