Basketball - Girls Varsity
Our program prides itself on work ethic, accountability, and unselfishness. We focus on improving individual skills while also teaching team concepts. The girls in our program love to play the game of basketball, and while they are asked to work hard and be at their best every day, they understand that basketball is a game, and it is meant to be fun. We welcome all levels of skill and experience to our program, and we just ask our players to “keep working” in all of their endeavors on and off the court. The Bears play in the Soffer Athletic Center, a multi-sport facility which features two regulation size basketball courts, a team strength and conditioning room, and home and guest locker rooms.

Coaches
Head Coach Junior De La Hoz joined Berkshire in the fall of 2022, bringing with him over a decade of experience in boarding schools. He most recently served as the middle school Dean at Dwight-Englewood School in New Jersey, and has worked at the Hillside School in Massachusetts and Proctor Academy in New Hampshire, where he coached the girls varsity basketball team to the 2015 and 2016 New England championship. A graduate of Anna Maria College, Coach De La Hoz earned his undergraduate degree in Social Work and holds a master's degree in Counseling Therapy. He was a three-year captain of the school's basketball team, and later joined the coaching staff as a graduate assistant and recruiting coordinator. He also coaches baseball, serves as a dorm parent and advisor, and lives on campus with his wife and two sons.
