Athletics

Athletics are an essential part of the Berkshire experience, offering students the opportunity to grow as individuals and teammates while representing the School with pride. With a commitment to excellence, sportsmanship, and character development, Berkshire’s athletics program challenges student-athletes to strive for their personal best—on and off the field.

Our athletics program is renowned for developing and supporting elite athletes, and for introducing self-proclaimed "non-athletes" to new sports. Whether your aim is to play in college or even professionally, or you want the skills to keep active for life, there's an opportunity for every student to be involved. As part of our Afternoon Program, Berkshire is proud to offer 17 sports and 50 athletic teams, in addition to a wide range of opportunities that includes strength and conditioning, the Ritt Kellogg Mountain Program, advanced academic research, theater, dance, art, and music.

Our Afternoon Program could be the place where kids learn the most about themselves. They learn to set goals, to be a good teammate, and to overcome adversity. Importantly, they learn how to win, as well as respond to failure appropriately. These are the lessons that allow for further success, not just in athletics, but in life.

    College and Beyond

Berkshire has a proud tradition of supporting student-athletes in continuing their athletic and academic journeys beyond high school. Each year, graduates go on to compete at the collegiate level, with many earning the opportunity to play in NCAA Division I and Division III programs across a wide range of sports.
