Pro Vita Winter Session

February 28–March 7, 2026

Do you enjoy hands-on, experiential learning? Are you interested in sustainable living, marine ecology, conservation, environmental research, or community outreach? If yes, then “a sea of opportunity awaits you” at The Island School, located on the Cape Eleuthera peninsula in The Bahamas! Spend the week on The Island School campus, explore nearby coral reefs, seagrass flats, mangroves, and bush, and get a taste for scientific research and conservation efforts. This week-long program will “instill within group members a sense of place and leadership that enables them to make meaningful changes in their own communities.”

Note: this trip will run over spring break. Students will be on campus during Pro Vita week, and one of their on-campus classes will be group preparation for the trip.

Beijing
Step into history as you explore the Great Wall, the majestic Forbidden City, and Tiananmen Square. Experience a traditional Peking Duck dinner and learn Kung Fu in a local park.

Shanghai
Discover China's most modern metropolis! Stroll along the Bund, view the city from the top of the Shanghai Tower, and dive into futuristic technology and global culture at museums and along modern city streets.

Suzhou and Zhujiajiao
Often called the “Venice of the East,” Suzhou offers peaceful canals, ancient gardens, and a taste of traditional Chinese life. Take a relaxing boat road through the canals and explore ancient streets with countless shops and restaurants.
