We are reaching out to you from the College Counseling Office to welcome you to Berkshire. We are genuinely excited that you have joined the Class of 2027. As new families, we want to ensure that you have access to the entire college counseling staff and all of our resources over the summer and as we head into the fall.
We have auto-registered each parent and student with Naviance Student, and you should have received an automatic email with the login details. Please contact Anne Stosiek (astosiek@berkshireschool.org) if you have any issues logging in.
We have developed a Family Questionnaire, in order to assist our efforts as a college counseling team. This questionnaire helps us write thoughtful and thorough letters of recommendation. You can help by sharing details of your child’s experiences outside of Berkshire. Parents/guardians are invited to fill this out together or may fill it out separately. Please complete the survey by June 15. The information you provide will be confidential.
If it would be helpful, you are welcome to reach out and schedule a Zoom or phone meeting with me (abowler@berkshireschool.org) in the next couple of weeks, as we transition into the summer. These meetings will allow you to take stock of where you are in your college process, and to strategize as to how best to use the summer to prepare for your year at Berkshire School.
An email titled Berkshire School: Course Requests, Form VI was sent to parents and guardians Thursday afternoon, May 7. Please review the guidelines in that email and complete the online course request form with your child and return your child's Request Form by May 15. At the end of the school year, it is important to request that an official end-of-year final transcript (no additional academic files are required) be sent to Berkshire, attention Academic Office (release form can be accessed here).
Please know that additional resources are available on the college counseling page on the Berkshire website and on our College Counseling Blog. You will also be receiving monthly communications from our office throughout the summer and fall.
We are excited to get to meet you in person when you join us on campus in the fall. Please know that we are all committed to working to support you, as you are an important and valued member of the Berkshire School Class of 2027. We look forward to doing that work together.
