E. Lockhart is the beloved author of fiercely intelligent novels that explore issues of morality, feminism, and heroism. Also among her 11 novels are the National Book Award finalist The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks and the New York Times bestseller and LA Times Book Prize finalist Genuine Fraud.
Lockhart went to Vassar College and has a doctorate in English literature from Columbia University in the field of the 19th-century British novel. She has taught writing and literature at Columbia, Barnard, NYU, and Hamline University’s MFA Program in Writing for Children. In 2013 she chaired the committee on Young People's Literature for the National Book Awards.
