Plans for a Safe Reopening

In Berkshire School's commitment to ensuring a safe reopening of school in September, we are providing this page which contains information and updates on our internal planning, guided by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health protocols and the status of the COVID-19 pandemic.

To support our planning and decisions, we have engaged the services of Environmental Health & Engineering, a consulting firm specializing in solutions to complex environmental and health issues. They will be reviewing our operations to minimize any COVID-19 risk during our reopening, and they are providing specific guidelines for all our core program areas on campus. These include recommendations on scheduling, social distancing, routes and movement on campus, cleaning and disinfection, as well as protocols for student health, academics, dining, residential life, athletics, etc. We have also formed a Safe Reopening Task Force, which is already at work across 15 distinct areas of school life to prepare for our return to campus.

All communication updates on reopening for the 2020–21 school year will be posted below on this page in June, July, and August.
