Kalila Daley ’28 won both the 100m and 200m at the NEPSTA Division II Championship, earning Girls MVP honors and setting a new school record in the 200m.
Girls Track and Field delivered a statement performance at the New England Preparatory School Track Association (NEPSTA) Division II Championship this spring at The Governor’s Academy in Byfield, Mass., highlighted by multiple event titles, a school record, and a Girls MVP performance from Kalila Daley ’28.
Daley led the charge for the Bears, capturing Girls MVP of the Meet honors after winning both the 100m and 200m dashes. “Kalila consistently pushes herself to improve, making her not only an exceptional athlete but also a great teammate and leader within the program,” Head Coach Dory Driscoll said.
In the 200m, she set a new Berkshire School record with a time of 24.75, breaking the previous mark of 25.2 that had stood since 1994. Her record-breaking run also qualified her for the New Balance Nationals Outdoor, the national championship meet at the University of Pennsylvania, where she proudly represented Berkshire in the 200m race on the national stage in late June.
“It means a lot, and I honestly wasn’t expecting it,” Daley said. “Being named MVP feels really special. Knowing that record has been there for 32 years and having my name in the history book is something I’m grateful for, and I’m excited to see what’s in store for these next two years.”

The 4x400 relay team of Deandra Hage ’29, Kalila Daley ’28, Kenzi DeJesus ’26, and Alivia Mauer ’26 won the NEPSTA Division II title, while the same quartet placed second in the 4x100 relay.
Daley also played a key role in both relay events, teaming up with Deandra Hage ’29, Kenzi DeJesus ’26, and Alivia Mauer ’26 to win the 4x400 relay, while the same quartet placed second in the 4x100 relay.
“They showed exceptional teamwork, determination, and competitive spirit throughout the meet,” Head Coaches Driscoll and Mike McCabe said. “We are extremely proud of how each athlete contributed to their leg of the relays, delivering strong splits and supporting one another to achieve success at the highest level.”
In the field events, Gabby Ogunnupe ’27 also delivered a strong performance for the Bears, placing fourth in the discus with a personal-record throw, while finishing eighth in the long jump and seventh in the shot put.
