Jack Harrison '15 is turning professional.

The former Berkshire soccer standout and 2015 Gatorade National Boys Soccer Player of the Year has signed a contract with Generation adidas, making him eligible for the upcoming Major League Soccer draft on January 14.

Harrison, who captured ACC Offensive Player and Freshman of the Year honors while playing for Wake Forest University last fall, decided to forgo his remaining three years at the school for a chance to join the professional ranks.

"It is with a heavy heart that I embark on the next journey of my life," Harrison said.

"The decision to turn pro wasn't taken lightly - especially after putting so much time into my education at Berkshire and Wake Forest. The offer from MLS allows me to obtain my dreams while still continuing my education. I wouldn't have achieved this without Coach Moodey or the support of the Berkshire community which I am very thankful for."

Generation adidas athletes are guaranteed scholarships to continue their college education, according to the organization.

Harrison and four other players under contract with Generation adidas and are eligible for the 2016 MLS SuperDraft held in Baltimore. One analyst has predicted that Harrison could be drafted as high as the No. 2 pick by the Colorado Rapids.

Harrison, a Bolton, England native, finished his Berkshire career with 44 goals and 65 assists, leading the team to three straight New England Prep School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Class A championships. In addition to being chosen as the nation's top soccer player as a high school senior, Harrison was two-time Massachusetts Gatorade Boys Soccer Player of the Year (2013-2014, 2014-2015).

At Wake Forest, he led the team with eight goals and 11 assists and was named a First Team All-American by the NSCAA. He was a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy, given to the top Div. I soccer player.
