Berkshire students performed in the MMEA Western District music festival's chorus and orchestra.

Nine Berkshire students were chosen to perform at this winter’s Massachusetts Music Educators Association’s (MMEA) Western District Music Festival, held on January 18 at Minnechaug Regional High School. The concert features the state’s most talented high school musicians who perform in chorus, concert band, jazz band, and orchestra.

Luka Davis ’26 (tenor/soloist), Fred Faulkner ’27 (bass), Allan Qi ‘27 (bass), and Sam Wang ‘27 (bass) performed in the music festival's chorus, while Toby Huang ’25 (concertmaster), Claire Kim ‘26 (violin), Jacob Lee ’26 (viola), Claire Yoon ‘27 (violin), and Kaleb Yoon ’26 (violin) played in the orchestra.

Huang, a violinist, was invited to perform at the All-State concert at Boston Symphony Hall on March 29th.

The students were accompanied on the trip by Dr. Tasia Wu and Dr. Clive Davis, who’ve been making the trip for nearly 20 years and have enjoyed much success at the MMEA event with their students.

"The opportunity for our students to play with and learn from so many other talented musicians is wonderful," Dr. Wu shared. "The concert is a great reward for all of their hard work."
