Berkshire student Tucker Donelan '18 earned third place in the National Endowment for the Arts' 2018 Musical Theater Songwriting Challenge.

The national competition was held in New York City on April 23 and featured six high school student finalists vying for $40,000 in scholarship awards. By finishing third, Donelan earned $5,000 from the Entertainment Industry Foundation.

A classically trained musician, Donelan's song Caleb's Confession was selected among nearly 200 applications submitted by students in 36 states, according to the National Endowment for the Arts.
