Berkshire is pleased to announce a new exhibit opening in The Warren Family Gallery: Jeffrey L. Neumann: Paintings. Neumann's oil and watercolor paintings will be featured from November 2 - December 15 in a solo exhibition. An opening reception for the artist, free and open to the public, will be held on Friday, November 2, from 6:00 - 7:30 pm.
Done in the style of contemporary realism, Jeffrey Neumann’s paintings focus on the 20th-century American commercial landscape. A resident of nearby Hillsdale, NY, Neumann spends a great deal of time on the road. "The paintings I make are distilled from that experience," he explains.
“As the corporate homogenization of our commercial landscape continues relentlessly, vernacular roadside places are fast becoming an endangered species," Neumann says. "These paintings help to preserve an important part of our American cultural history.”
