Event Type: Regular
Advantage:Away

Date: February 20, 2013

Result:Win
Score:5 - 4

Event Recap:

The Bears headed to Williston-Northampton to extend their streak of road wins, and faced a talented, physical, and speedy squad. Berkshire opened up the scoring early thanks to a faceoff win by Jared Shatkin '13, which let Will Knight '13 capitalize with a deadly wrist shot through traffic. The Williston crew was kept on their heels for much of the first thanks to a tenacious forecheck from the Berkshire forwards. The Bears' aggressive style proved to be problematic at times though, with defensemen crashing into the zone without a forward to fill their spot; Williston scored two goals on odd-man rushes due to the poor positioning, and despite Berkshire controlling the puck for much of the period, they trailled 1-2. The Bears clawed their way back with excellent puck movement and quick and decisive shots - Sam Hahn '14 scored a brilliant goal to tie things up, and Connor Shalleck '16 added a second highlight-caliber goal to help give Berkshire.a 3-2 edge. Williston responded immediately and the second period ended in a tie.

The Bears would lose Shalleck due to an accident, but Shatkin stepped in to play alongside linemates Gray Riatti '14 and PJ Webb '15. Though Williston would take the lead midway through the last period, Webb would score the equalizer on a man-advantage with 3 minutes remaining. The Riatti-Shatkin-Webb line continued to dominate, with Webb scoring with 5 seconds remaining to win the contest.  Captain Jesse Hahn '13 and Ben Harff '15 both played terrific games, and Brendan Moloy '14 made the stops when it mattered most.

The team wishes a speedy recovery for Shalleck and was extremely proud to get him the win.
