After a difficult loss to Salisbury on Wednesday, the Bears responded in true Berkshire fashion by picking up a huge road win against a tough Westminster team. The Bears and Martlets both came to play and each team set the tone with aggressive play all game. However, it was the Bears who struck first when a shot from the point trickled in to give the Bears a 1-0 lead. The Martlets soon responded and evened the score at 1-1 going into the second. It was early in the second period when Jared Shatkin ’14 broke the tie with a nifty shot from near the goal line that snuck in for a 2-1 Berkshire lead. For the remainder of the game, Calder Ryan ’14 stood tall in the net and never allowed Westminster to even the game. All in all, a hard-fought win for the Berkshire Bears and a complete team effort.
